best price capacitance bridge tester suppliers - Bulk Supply and Specification Guide
Material Options and Their Trade-offs
Consistency is set at the forming stage when the chassis alloy and PCB stack-up are locked. A die-cast aluminum frame costs 18-22% more than folded sheet steel but cuts radiated emissions by 12-15 dB — critical when the unit sits next to a 50 MHz oscillator on a production test bench.
Chassis & Shielding
- Die-cast Al 380: 2.4 kg, 15 dB better shielding, $42-58 unit cost at 500 MOQ
- Folded SPCC steel: 2.9 kg, adequate for bench use, $31-39 unit cost
- Extruded profile with gasketed seams: 2.6 kg, IP52 front, $49-63 unit cost
Front-Panel Interface
- Tactile membrane, 1M cycles rated: survives solvent wipe-down, $8-12
- Capacitive touch, 5 mm tempered glass: modern look, glove-incompatible, $22-30
- Silicone rubber keys, laser-etched legends: 3M cycles, ESD-hardened, $15-21
Connector Grade
- BNC nickel-plated brass: 500 mate cycles, $3.50 each
- Triaxial gold-plated beryllium copper: 2000 cycles, $18-24 each
- N-type stainless: 500 cycles, ruggedized, $12-16 each
Procurement note: Switching from BNC to triaxial adds $45-60 per unit in connector cost alone but reduces measurement uncertainty on <10 pF DUTs by a factor of 3. Calculate your rework rate on failed incoming inspection before deciding.

The build method decides whether Config B's 2 MHz synthesizer stays phase-stable after 18 months of 24/7 handler cycling. We spec a 0.5 ppm/°C OCXO and guard-ringed reference capacitors — line items that add $180 BOM but eliminate the number-one warranty claim: frequency drift causing false rejects on 0402 MLCC lots.
How to Choose Before Requesting a Quote
First-article tooling determines the calibration interval you can promise your customer. If their SOP requires 12-month traceability to ±0.02%, you need the OCXO reference and triaxial guarding — Config A's TCXO and BNCs will drift 0.03-0.04% in that window, triggering return-authorization loops that cost $350-600 per unit in freight, recal, and admin.
Ask the supplier for their guard-band policy. A 4:1 test-uncertainty ratio on the calibration certificate means the factory standard is four times better than the spec you ship. Anything less and you inherit the measurement risk.
Segment-Specific Requirements
MLCC sort lines need handler I/O with <2 ms trigger latency and binning outputs for 16 categories. That forces Config B's architecture — the FPGA-based comparator and dedicated GPIO block aren't firmware-upgradable on Config A.

Film-capacitor incoming inspection runs at 100 Hz/1 kHz only. Config A suffices, but specify the low-loss polypropylene reference capacitors in the cal kit; ceramic references shift 0.1% under the 10 Vrms test voltage these DUTs demand.
Automotive qualification labs require ISO 17025 accreditation on the calibration certificate. Verify the supplier's lab scope covers 20 Hz – 2 MHz dissipation factor before ordering Config B — many "calibrated" certificates only cover 1 kHz.
How Consistency Is Held Across Batches
Every lot passes a 48-hour burn-in at 45°C ambient while measuring a stable 1 nF / 0.001 tan δ reference capacitor. Units exceeding 0.005% drift or 0.00002 tan δ shift are pulled — typical yield loss 2-3%.
Firmware is version-locked per hardware revision. The bootloader checks CRC against a signed manifest; any field-update attempt on mismatched hardware bricks the display module — a deliberate anti-downgrade measure after clone boards appeared with copied firmware but inferior analog front-ends.
Reference components (10 pF, 100 pF, 1 nF, 10 nF air-dielectric standards) are serialized and tracked in the MES. When a standard drifts beyond ±15 ppm at annual recal, every tester calibrated against it since its last verification gets flagged for re-verification.

| Tan δ accuracy at 1 kHz | 0.001 tan δ reference, ±0.00005 limit | 100% final test |
| Frequency accuracy | Counter-gated against GPSDO, ±10 ppm | 100% final test |
| DC bias voltage accuracy | DMM verification at 0, ±50, ±200 V, ±0.5% | 100% final test |
| Temperature coefficient | Chamber soak 15-35°C, measure 1 nF ref drift | 1 per 50 units (lot sample) |
| EMI conducted emissions | CISPR 11 Class A, LISN 150 kHz-30 MHz | First article + quarterly |
| Handler I/O timing | Oscilloscope capture, trigger-to-data-valid <2 ms | Config B only, 100% |
| Mechanical shock | IEC 60068-2-27, 30 g half-sine 11 ms, 3 axes | First article |
Packing, Marking and Freight Configuration
Each unit ships in a custom-molded ESD-safe polyethylene foam insert inside a double-wall corrugated carton (ECT 48). The insert has cutouts for the power cord, calibration certificate sleeve, and connector dust caps — no loose accessories to rattle in transit.
Carton label carries: model, serial range, hardware rev, firmware rev, calibration date, and a QR code linking to the lot's test data pack. Pallets are 4 units per layer, 3 layers high, stretch-wrapped with corner boards. Gross weight per pallet: 48-58 kg depending on config.
For air freight we add a desiccant sachet (30 g silica gel) and humidity indicator card inside the carton. Ocean containers get VCI film wrap on the pallet. Both add $4-6 per unit but eliminate the corrosion-on-arrival claims that used to hit 1.2% of sea shipments.
